Piped medical gases provide oxygen and nitrous oxide to all anaesthetic stations. Supplies are monitored and alarmed in case of failure. In addition oxygen is supplied to the recovery kennels and cat ward in case additional oxygen is needed in recovery from anaesthesia, or in the case of some chest problems. Both operating theatres have medical air supplies to power sophisticated surgical power tools used in our orthopaedic and neurosurgical work.
