Dental scaler
Removing the hard calculus from teeth helps eliminate the places where bacteria can lurk in the mouth. This also helps to prevent periodontal disease. This scaler pictured is ultrasonic, vibrating at high speed to dislodge the tartar without damaging the teeth or gums.
Dental polisher
After the teeth are scaled they are then polished – this leaves a nice smooth surface and makes it more difficult for plaque to re-attack. Dental polishing together with good home care will help avoid a recurrence of dental disease.
